Snitches Ain't @#$%

French Montana, old time Bricksquad affiliate and fresh off the XXL Freshman cover, just released this verse for YG's Snitches Ain't remix. Definitely one for the late night party get down, the beat is perfect to just bang your head. When I get the uncensored version, you will too.

We're All Mighty Fools

This remix of Control by Benny Benassi got released yesterday but I couldn't find a full version for free. Thank you to the remix geniuses themselves, The Mighty Fools, for putting it to youtube. It starts out great and gets your ready to dance before pulling a fast one and getting extra dirty for the epic drop at one minute, and then goes right back into rage mode. The perfect balance.

NT89

NT89 just released this remix of Junkie XL, one of his "teenage heroes," called Off the Dancefloor. It's a great song to move your hips to, almost a tribal vibe, and I'm especially loving the touch of steel drums.

Mr. Wonk Gets Down

Appropriately named, Mr. Wonk is dropping the full Neon in March with Sharam jey, a crazy good looking track. Reminiscent of deadmau5's Ghosts N Stuff, it has a more electro feel but still carries a little raspy dubstep. Looking forward to the full track.

MountBlood

MountBlood - Storm Thrower by MountBlood

MountBlood - Feel you in my Blood by MountBlood

Hot outta the south, Mountblood is justifying the old saying that everything is bigger in Texas, especially the bass. New track Storm Thrower has a pretty exceptional style, it's like dubstep that puts you in a womp-trance, and Feel You In My Blood brings the vocals for the ladies. Can't wait to see what else is coming from this guy.

#the1st28

Gotta love Curren$y, and his new mixtape with Styles P gets just as much love. Jekell and Hyde is my favorite, as soon as you hear the horn section on the beat you'll know why.

Light It Up

Image from http://www.thecoventrykids.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/Flinch_headshot.jpg

Just released on beatport, the new ep Light It Up by Flinch is almost worth the ridiculous amount they try to charge. The first two songs are great, definitely the better half of the ep in my opinion. I just wish artists would realize that if you put on a good enough live show, you don't need to rip off your fans by attempting to make them pay for songs.

Kill the Noise + Datsik

This song, Lightspeed, just got released officially today, even though it's been around before today. It's been called electro house, but rest assured that this gets down and dirty at .58

Hey Kids, It's Borgore

That's the video for Flex, the title track for the new Borgore E.P. I don't really think there's an explanation necessary, just get it.

MIAMI MIX 2012

MIAMI MIX 2012 by Savoy

New Miami Mix 2012 from Savoy. Crazy, house going ham and then a dirty dubstep switchover at 23 minutes. An extra long mix for when you're in the zone, never gets boring.

You Lose, Justin Bieber

Madeon - Icarus by Madeon

New song, Icarus, from our favorite under-ager rager, Madeon. If you get through the entire song without bobbing your head, you might have misplaced your soul.

Throwback Thursday: Put It On

This song is the first on my playlist to spark up to. Big L is undeniably one of the best, and one of the best perpetuators of that mellow east coast sound that got me into rap. This song is literally one of the most played from the third floor, the inspiration for this site, so enjoy.

Boom Boom Boom

This is one of those songs that everyone knows, and nobody knows where it came from. The Outhere Brothers formed in Chicago in 1987, and made it big in the UK with Boom Boom Boom in 1995. This song really set the stage for the moombahton/moombahcore thats been everywhere lately. Out Here.

PS: The new DoYaThing track by the Gorillaz and Andre 3000 for Converse just came out today, snag it HERE and someone get to work on the remix!

Taylor Gang or Die

It was news to me that Juicy J, trap favorite, got signed to TGOD. This new track with Wiz Khalifa is the perfect match for a swisher and a double cup. Which, if you hadn't figured it out, is Juicy J's favorite. I assumed with all the lean he'd go bricksquad, but I'm lovin his contrast with Wiz (who, let's admitt, went a little soft on that new song Morocco. I couldn't bring myself to post all that autotune, google it.)

If this is the first time you're hearing Juicy J, here's my favorite from his mixtape.
"You say no to drugs, Juicy J can't."

Poor So Hard

Mos Def, one of the greatest greats in hip hop, is going by Yasiin Bey now and tearing up Jay-Z and Kanye's "N****s In Paris." He's taking a stance against what has become "luxury rap" and leaving no room to argue. Everyone who has something to say worth hearing came from somewhere a little different than Bel Air, if you know what I mean. Leave it to Yasiin to treat everyone who got big and traded their past for a lambo. The beginning goes off a little awkward with the beat dropping out, but it comes back to go in for the kill.

"Who get faded? little Maurice in the sixth grade. no mama, no father, role model the dope game."

"that shit cray. aint it bay? diabetics. fish filet."

Grew Up Fast

J. Cole - Grew Up Fast by illRoots

Didn't we all. J. Cole's baby face would let you think he's got something to learn, but this new freestyle just proves that he is definitely all grown up. If there is anything I love in this world, it's an oldschool sample.

Mochipet

Free download, check out this new STS9 remix from Mochipet. He's coming to the Miramar this Saturday, and tickets are only 10 dollars in advance so snag one now and come see me with Grassroots California for cool points!

Cypress X Rusko

The new album coming in April, Cypress X Rusko, brings together the best of both worlds. Where hip-hop fuses with dubstep, the two genres that go the hardest pack a real punch. "We came here to get you high." Thanks Cypress, it's working.

Hey Mr. Mister, I Got Everything You Need

Mr. Mister feat. Wynter Gordon by Sato Goldschlag

This song is amazing! Wynter Gordon's voice is so sultry, I can't get enough. She's like the black wonder baby of Florence and Gwen Stefani. In this tune Mr. Mister by Sato Goldschlag things get hot. Get ready to rage at 2:30.

Jakob Liedholm

Jakob Liedhold, clearly Swedish and therefore destined for house greatness, has been amping up a lot of remix favorites. David Guetta's Titanium above gets fully charged, and his remix of Somebody That I Used To Know by Goyte is making me bounce out of my chair in the library.

Gotye - Somebody I Used To Know (Jakob Liedholm Remix) by Jakob Liedholm (Official)

Oh, and also... HE'S FIFTEEN. look out world.

Old Song, New Video

Check out the new video for Bangarang by Skrillex! I love the good vs. evil theme he has going in all his videos, not to mention I can't think of any Icecream truck driver that DIDNT deserve to get his ass kicked. Enjoy.

Dose Of Dopeness

KiD CuDi - Dose Of Dopeness by illRoots

Just when it seems that the game is hopeless, Cudi kicks ass on a Dose of Dopeness. The new track, preluding the release of the album WZRD coming out with Dot Da Genius on Feb. 28th. They made the song in 2008, but dropped it now just to get us excited. It's working.

Throwback Thursday

I've been meaning to do Throwback Thursday this whole time, but have been busy prepping for The Polish Ambassador show tomorrow, where I'll be working with the Grassroots California team to bring some swag to Milwaukee! Be there!

Anyway, if you know me, you had to know this would be the first song. Soldier by Destiny's Child! Especially cuz this thirsty thursday happens to be ladies night. But hey, T.I. and Wayne kill it too, boys, so don't write this one off! Anyone who makes a dubstep remix of this gets my eternal gratitude and the benefits that come with that.

The Jump Off
In the spirit of the ladies, I have to mention Lil Kim. This song is for ballers, male or female. Timbaland made the beat, so game over.
Basic Physics - Lift Off (Album) by Basic Physics

Great mashup album, Basic Physics by Alex Syse shows how it should really be done. On the first track, he combines electronic, Wayne, and even a newscast about the Packer phenomenon. Second track takes the beat from Fade Into Darkness... I think it's safe to say you know it's going good. Big thanks to Pontillo for cracking this out :P

Admitt it, You Love Jersey Shore

We know you do. Every Thursday you pregame to it, don't lie. I have accepted this fact about myself, which is why I had to at least look at the new track from DJ Pauly D bro. I've talked about sneaking into his show every time he comes to the Rave, and now I totally regret not even trying. No matter how badly you want to fight it, if this comes on at a party you're fist pumping and you know it.

It's Always A Good Day for Knife Party

Great new Knife Party remix of a song called Last Time by Labrinth. Unfortunately, this is not a a remixed song from the David Bowie flick. But, Knife Party always delivers, this time poppin off around 1:30.

King Pt.2

I've been a big fan of Big K.R.I.T ever since I heard him on Country Shit. This freestyle over Just Blaze's instrumental for Drake's "Lord Knows" is the second part of his first King freestyle released in 2010 which touches on social issues important to the artist. It's always great to hear someone who can put out both bangers and songs with a message.

Do I See Color?

Not sure how I missed when this got posted to soundcloud 27 days ago, but Do I See Color by Adventure Club just got onto Itunes today and is just as good as every other song they put out. I really look forward to seeing these guys in the future, don't forget the 4/20 show at the Rave! This song is a little synthy, almost a faint 80's vibe, but it goes with their traditional style of light pitches contrasting the dirty dub we love.

Dillon Francis

Dillon Francis's new EP came out today titled Something, Something Awesome. This track, Dill the Noise, is a collaboration with Kill the noise and the best of the three songs on the EP. It's a little skrillex-y, pairing high pitched vocals and a dirty drop at some point that I can't determine because of the ancient computer I'm using at work. You can grab it on beatport... for 2.49 a song... it hurts to endorse

Climax

this new track from Diplo features Usher. It's a little more downtempo: baby making music just in time for the big womp tonight.

Nicki Minaj Is My Bottom Bitch

New Single from Nicki Minaj's upcoming album Roman Reloaded. Still the baddest bitch in the rap game, she's going a little more towards dance. I'm just confused why she made herself white in this picture...

We're higher than a motherfucker, build up to 1:09

Andre 3000: Be My Valentine

Remember how awesome Outkast was? Every year on February 14th this song gets stuck in my head. Andre 3000 is stiff competition for Morgan Freeman. Happy Valentines Day!

Speaking of Andre 3000, I looked into what he's doing now, and can't wait for February 23rd. Andre 3000 is doing a collab with Gorillaz and LCD soundsytem for a new Converse line. The campaign is "Three Artists, One Song" and DoYaTHing is that song. Not to mention it will be available for free on the Converse website! Hooray Free Music!

So Looking Forward To This.

Andre also just dropped this remix of Jeezy's "I Do" with Drake and Jay-Z. I hope this is the start of an epic tour!

He's 17.

This is a video for Madeon's impressive mashup, Pop Culture. Madeon is a 17 year old frenchman. Let the stereotypes fly, this guy is already way cooler than you at 1/5 of his lifespan. He's also playing a show at Schlitterbahn, America's greatest waterpark (it's in Texas, so you know its huge) like a complete boss, on March 17th.

Plus, how can you hate a video that features Bill (Marvin Starr) from Freaks and Geeks!

Here's the same song, the video is just him mixing it if you're interested.

Sunday Filth

Red cups everywhere. The living room smells like beer and the kitchen smells like an electrical fire. It must be Sunday, the filthiest day of the week. While you're scrubbing off layers of weekend grime, enjoy some music that is actually on your level. Nuskulfunk is banging dubstep all the way from Russia, and this single Switchmad is sure to echo out.Disclaimer: not for those debilitated by their hangover

Um... This Shit Is Awesome.

This is a release from M.i (M dot i), a remix of Paradise by Coldplay. M.I is about to release "The Coldplay Sessions" and if there is one thing i love its a light and dazed track under some nice rhymes. If you haven't noticed the trend (nice rhymes and dirty bass are substitutes, although both is always the best possible option.)Anyway according to GMAD the project is set to be released Feb. 21, and it's going to be offered for free, and I can't wait to take it for a cruise this summer.

Hilltop Hoods: New Album Soon

Here's the single Rattling the Keys to the Kingdom from the upcoming album Drinking from the Sun, set for release March 9th. Hilltop Hoods always have the best combo of hard yet classy, if that makes sense. Just listen, and if you haven't heard already you absolutely need to get The Hard Road and The Hard Road Restrung, in which they re-did their entire album over a full orchestra. Tell me about whats gangsta.

"Hush. Hear the voice. I'm addicted to the rush to fill the void"

feed me Feed Me!

New Feed Me! Ever since Feed Me was with Skrillex at the Lollapalooza aftershow I have been hooked. Their new release, Escape from Electric Mountain, is great all the way through. Usually known for heavy dubstep, the song Relocation has a lovely downtempo feel. But don't worry, One Click Headshot will blow the bass in one ear and out the other. Embers ft. Lindsay is slightly reminiscent of Adventure Club, pairing airy vocals with a solid drop 3 minutes in.

Happy Birthday to J Dilla!

J Dilla, inspiring the movement.

And for all the dubheads, here's a remix! Gotta love Glitch Mob.

Streets Talkin/ Johnny Cochrane

If you have seen Going in for the Kill, you know LEP Bogus Boys are the music video kings of the rap game. Their rhymes are impressive enough, and both of these bangers come together for an epic 10 minute mini-movie. Have to say, it kind of reminds me of a mini, less glamorous version of Belly. I really just love the boys and think theyre smooth. They just make anthems to being a boss.

"The only thing you're runnin in my city is your fuckin mouth"

Curren$y

New Curren$y EP is killin it. There are few things I love more than a nice rhyme over a good horn section and some oldschool swagger.

#Cruiselife destroys drive slow, check it out first

"Block Rockin Beat"

Nicky Romero, Generation 303. Wait for the drop at 2:49. Definitely dancing to this one all night. All I can say is thank god for Tiesto RT'ing this.

Trap Back (Burr)

"I got bird's everywhere, call that the chicken room" -Gucci.

Back in 95 is the classic Gucci opener, and Walkin Lick with Flocka is obviously a banger, even though Flocka is screamin on the last verse. Hyphy. Plain Jane is another one made to be heard on subs, so I have to stop there. One headphone comin out of the computer is not going to allow me to hear these properly. Looking to do some field work later today, cruise anyone?

Mac Miller and Cam'ron Team Up

Mac Miller has been on the rise all over the place with his release of Blue Slide Park, but this is one combination I did not expect to see. I love Killa Cam, and it's so great to hear him going back to the oldschool style I've been missing from him. It's a good day for hip hop. The name of the track is definitely well suited: Dig That.

Demons- Minnesota Remix

Minnesota drops a new track, remixing Demons by Fenech Soler. It's available for free download, so cop that shit! Can't wait to hear this live at Scamp and EF!

Comin Thru Today

In honor of the Electric Forest lineup that just got released, which is almost perfect by the way, I am paying tribute to one of my favorite songs from high school. Chali2na has played with Jurassic 5 and Ozomatil, and on this song Comin Thru, he reps Chicago better than anyone ever has before.

Don't Tell Me Our Youth Is Running Out, It's Only Just Begun

Foxes - Youth (Adventure Club Dubstep Remix) by Adventure Club Dubstep In honor of the kick-off of their American tour, the Canadian dubstep gods called Adventure Club have released this brand new track. When I heard their remix of Crave You, also found on soundcloud, it was an instant favorite, and every song since has followed. The way they pair airy melodic voices and killer drops is a beautiful music equilibrium, happy hump day! DONT FORGET: Adventure Club will be bringing down the Rave in Milwaukee on 4/20. My prayers have been answered, see you there!
