Finale

Remember that 18 year old French badass? This is just a teaser for Madeon's new single Finale. It's big, epic, huge, whatever word you decide to use. Look out for this one, he'll be throwing down at Lollapalooza this summer.

1991

The world is officially ready for the dance music takeover. Azealia Banks track 1991 is a killer remix of the entire late 90's. Tropical instrumental sounds come together with a voice and attitude like Lil Kim. It brings together moomba, dance hall, rap, and as is always loved, cowbell. New EP is out now, keep an eye on this one.

Fire Dance

Always up to date with new Deletah tracks, Fire Dance is another taste of greatness from Milwaukee's best. Rememeber when James Bond was still going strong and action packed with car chase scenes? Thats what I think of when I hear this song, it's intensity draws you in and keeps you in a trance. Don't miss these guys at Bass Kitchen Friday June 22nd.

Money Makin

A Track and Dillon Francis know what people like: money. Any song about stackin' cash already has a 50% greater chance of success and, with such success with his remixes and collaborations, Dillon Francis has pretty much declared himself the best wingman of the year. The product is a happy-go-lucky track with a chorus everyone can love that's destined to be replayed in our heads every time we hit the ATM.

Spectrum

Zedd has really settled into his own personal style, and I couldn't be more thankful. This single, Spectrum, puts a new spin on the synth ballad, throwing in elements of dubstep and house as usual. It sounds something like a cross between a videogame soundtrack and the love theme of a futuristic foreign film... except it's awesome.

Insecure

WhiteNoize, a DJ duo out of San Fran, have been three year Coachella veterans and have played at Ultra in the past. So, why have I not heard of them!? This song Insecure makes you feel anything but, using funky soul to bring out the disco diva in everyone. Trust me, you'll be strutting harder than John Travolta with this in your earbuds.

With or Without You Remix

20 seconds into this song, I got goosebumps and pulled up the ol' blog. Clinton Sparks has an amazing ability to make you feel more than the desire to party. I love the electronic community because the crowds are friends, nobody is pushing and shoving. Everyone is there together, the guy next to you gets treated as if he was your best bud. We are all in it together. This is a song to sing to the person next to you, scream to the Dj in front of you, and dance into the floor. If you hated U2 before, here's your sign to stop.

Eliot Lipp

Eliot Lipp bring us the most recent release from Pretty Lights Music, Shark Wolf Rabbit Snake. This is the track Sunset, which has a futuristic synth quality that ads a unique twist to the PLM style. It's not just electronic, it's technologic. It's sonic, space-y even, as if you were watching the sunset from a satellite.

Waxdolls

The Waxdolls, an electronic group from Belgium, premiered their new single Brain Pop in one of the most innovative ways that I have ever heard of. They sent two promoters into a club to start a dance-off to the song, first drawing a crowd and then throwing down. How could you not walk away wondering what that song was? The advertising was certainly what got my attention, and I am thankful that it did.

Here's the video:

Apparently, they are some combination of Belgium, LMFAO, and Borgore, as seen by the video for "Spoiled Rich Bitches" on their Youtube channel... nowhere near as good as Brain Pop, but the video sure is "lol" worthy. And let's be honest, everyone loves to hate spoiled rich bitches. Their other video is for a song called Dingaling King. Is this a troll on America?

Bey

Yasiin Bey (a.k.a. Mos Def) just released another epic remix for his Top 40 Underdog series. Having taken the rebel stance in the rap game, this track delivers another anthem to battle the current industry mentality. Tackling Lil Wayne's John (If I Die Today), Bey makes it clear that "I don't have to talk loud to be sayin somethin." He's the master of providing a defense for the genre at a time when the mixtapes seem to be pouring out with little innovation.

Icon

Dubstep veteran Benga re-invented his roots for this new single called Icon. Vocal features from Bebe Black have a unique and soulful tone, much like Natasha Bedingfield, that compliments the dub beats which have a strong drum backbone to carry twinkling electronic details. The skydiving video for the song is currently released but for some reason unavailable in the United States, but if youre interested The Guardian UK has access to the video here.

Beez In The Trap Remix

Knuckle Children, local natives promoted by our friends at React Milwaukee, seem to have come out of nowhere. However, the remix they chose is definitely well suited...they beez in the trap. Despite the typical male response of cringing at the sound of Nicki Minaj's "cute voice" stick with it to 1.22 where the drop comes in. Trust me, you'll find yourself singing "i beez in the trap" all day, followed by the always awkward silent drop dance you do when you just cant fight what youre hearing in your head.

The guys are also featured on Bro Safari's spring mix on a track called Mr. Nice Guy. The mix is sprinkled with that latin fire, combining moomba beats, whistles, and dancehall drums.

Same Damn Time Remix

As the summer anthems roll out, Diddy and Ludacris came out of their hibernation to kill it for the remix on Future's track Same Damn Time. Although I could do without the autotuned chorus, nothing makes me come around like someone who knows how to talk good sh*t.

"Boy your money and my money aint the same damn kind,
I could live your life and my life at the same damn time.
See my ridin out money, that's your buy your house money,
i got that 'i could build a mall right by your house' money."

Years (Open Your Eyes Remix)

Alesso's new track Years has been generating a lot of buzz for this festival season. This remix by Jakob Liedholm, the crazy swedish youngin that brought us the best of the Somebody I Used to Know remixes, adds Kate Elsworth's chillingly romantic lyrics from Eyes Wide Open by Dirty South and Thomas Gold to the new track. It gives it that little extra "oomph."

Cosmic Love (Seven Lions Remix)

Florence and the Machine is one of the only modern rock artist that I care about. Her voice literally has the power to change tastes. This remix of Cosmic Love combines the goosebumps you get Florence with the chills you get from a mega-drop. At 1:50 the bumps come in and the drop at 2:15 will send shivers down your spine. She adds a unique beauty to every piece of music that she touches. Can't wait for Sunday Lollapalooza. Follow the player to soundcloud for the download link.

We Are The Sun

This is the best time of the year: the summer anthem release. Savoy kicks it off with We Are The Sun, featuring vocals from Heather Bright who we all fell in love with on Zedd's Stars Come Out track. The original is a lovely staple for the rest of your dub-house collection, but the remix done by Savoy himself is what's really noteworthy. The drop at 1.08 brings the heavy womp that turns you into a straight up creature. This is the dawn and we are the sun!

You Get High

The Milwaukee weather is constantly changing, and terrorizing the immune systems of its citizens. It's finals time at most universities, and the stress really just sucks to put it blatantly. And just when everything seemed as weak as it could be, Pretty Lights saves the day once again.
New single You Get High has been played at a few shows but the official release is out now. Funky and always soulful, with a video that will give you chills. He may be the only artists of our time that is truly timeless, having perfected the art of combining hip hop and electronic to reinvent old samples. In a world where we are constantly trained to be unsettled, craving something newer, something better; Pretty Lights satisfies.

I Got This

New Big K.R.I.T video for I Got This premiered yesterday on MTV 2's Sucker Free Sunday. Really innovative, I love to see that the music industry is headed towards visual dynamics once again. It's a new twist on the classic "hometown revisited" concept. K.R.I.T always has the southern hip hop style that we love, this time meshed with a little bit of Big Poppa swagger. Oh, and you can never forget the candy paint.

Here's a description of the numbers from the video, as explained on his website:

In Honor of MCA

It's tragic news to me, especially that I found out so late, but Adam Yauch aka. MCA of the Beastie Boys passed from cancer on May 4th. It was a personal goal of mine to see the crew that pioneered so much more than just white rappers. The Beastie Boys represented the positive attitude and socially reforming attitude that inspired most of our generation to grow. They were advocates of peace and social reform, and relayed this message in a style that was all their own, and has never been replicated.

here's a fantastic tribute done by Coldplay at the Hollywood Bowl. It may not be the traditional style, but they paid tribute in the best way that they knew how, and for that reason this song is amazing.

And the classic. Intergalactic was the first Beastie Boys song I ever listened to, back when I stole the Hello Nasty album from my older sister.

Wavesight

Paper Diamond- Wavesight EP (JEFF017) by Mad Decent

Wavesight, the new Paper Diamond EP, showcases the diversity of his sound. Turn the Lights Off has a thumping drum beat, Airlift gets extra electronic, and Can We Go Up is about to become a huge fan favorite. Can We Go Up assembles all the qualities of a good electro-dub radio hit, upbeat choruses and light drops with heavy soul. Can't wait for festival season with all these new soon-to-be classics.

Solidified Official Video

Gramatik has already shown through his music that his talents are diverse. From funk to dubstep, he adds his own personal swagger to each beat. The first single off his recently released EP #digitalfreedom, "Solidifed" generated visual imagery in this unique take on light. Innovative and intruiging, the video pairs perfectly with Gramatik's entire philosophy.

Freddie

Caleb James has successfully captured the old school east coast sound, amping up the funk for a new twist. It almost reminds me of an old cop show soundtrack. This track, Freddie featuring Nico Segal, is from his upcoming mixtape Ground Up set to be released July 15. I feel like the cycle keeps going from bangers to throwback, and I'm glad we're finally coming back around.

Rusko Channels Gucci

I love finding out that one of my favorite artists is on the same page as me. From his new album, OMG, Rusko drops it to the classic "Gucci!" on this track Got Da Groove. Hopefully he will play it this Friday at The Rave in Milwaukee! All hands on deck, drop it low.

Because It's Awesome

Released in 2011, this song is not old enough to be a throwback. But it is too good to ignore. Djs from Mars remixed Nirvana's classic Smells Like Teen spirit in the best verson that my ears have ever had the pleasure of hearing. A chill Monday evening, this song comes on the playlist, and I look around to see every head in the room bobbing with a big goofy grin to match. We were all thinking about one thing: rage.

Skelethon

New Aesop Rock video for his track Zero Dark Thirty, to be released on the five-year-anticipated album titled Skelethon. Aesop Rock is one of the most unique rappers out there. Think if Matisyahu and Immortal Technique had a college-educated child together. That child might be best friends with Aesop, but there's really no comparison. The electronic beat still finds a way to go hard. Excited for this album.

Here's one of his classics from his first album of the same title, Daylight:

And a lightly darker vibe from 2009, None Shall Pass:

Halo

Preview for the new Fareoh track, Halo. Looks like some vocals are going to be added later. Can't wait to see what happens to the drum beat at 1:18 in the final mix. I'll keep you posted.
